Development Review - Use Permit Waldo County, applicant, request to redevelop the 'Old Jail' facility into a permanent records storage facility for the County. The 'Old Jail' is part of the County's facilities located off of Congress Street; 10 Public Safety Way, Map 10, Lot 36. The Belfast Planning Board, in 2012, approved Waldo County's request to establish the 'Congress Street Hill, a Condominium' for this property. The Condominium was established to enable the County to redevelop and/or sell the former Sheriff's office and the 'Old Jail'. The County has sold the former Sheriff's Office, but has chosen to retain ownership of the 'Old Jail'. The applicant has submitted a Preliminary Subdivision Plan application to create 4 lots on a parcel that is approximately 13 acres. Each lot is proposed to allow single or two-family dwellings. The two-family dwelling currently on the property will remain.
