The City of Belfast City Council, at its meeting of Wednesday, July 5, 2017, beginning at 7:00 p.m. or as soon as practical thereafter, in the Council Chambers of Belfast City Hall which is located at 131 Church Street, shall conduct a public hearing associated with the Second Reading of proposed amendments to the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 102, Zoning. The amendments would change the minimum amount of traditional neighborhood front setback required for two properties located on Northport Avenue that are in the Residential 3 zoning district. The changes are as follows: • Map 33, Lot 19, located at 102 Northport Avenue, front setback would change from currently required 40 feet to 30 feet. • Map 33, Lot 36, located at 75 Northport Avenue, front setback would change from currently required 60 feet to 30 feet. The proposed amendments apply to Chapter 102, Zoning, Article V, District Regulations, Division 31, Dimensional Table, and the accompanying map which illustrates the amount of the front setback requirement, all of which were adopted by the City Council in October 2014. Persons who may be affected by the proposed amendments are encouraged to attend the July 5 public hearing and to offer comment.
